A month of six. Already.

Just some photos from a little photo shoot we did this afternoon. The last time I made her sit still for two minutes so I could snap more than one photo was her very last day of being five. And look, she has been six for over one month already!

She looks WAY older than six to me…

And?! Really? Six year olds know how to do the “eye-roll” already? I thought I had at least a few more years on that one.

Yeah. She is all six. And all beautiful.

happy_mothers_day.jpg

To all the Moms in my life:

Thank you for being there when I have to cry, for making me laugh when I need it, and most importantly for sharing the joy with me in this crazy maze we call motherhood.

Wishing each and every one of you the best day filled with love.

Catchin’ Up…

…kinda.

You guys are killing me, man! I’ve got grumbly people who complain when I don’t post something, pretending that it is essential to get their Chaos fix each day. You know what I think? I think you might be a wee bit spoiled, that’s what I think! I’m listening, though. I’ll work on getting more writing in – or more photos, at the very least.

And then I’ve got all my blog friends who clearly have shown no mercy either, as my blog reader groans under the sheer number of blogs I need to catch up on. I’m getting there, slowly but surely. That seems to be my recurring mantra these past few weeks, I tell you.

So Nana and Papa left us this week. Poor Papa was fighting the flu for most of his vacation here – but I think that we were able to give them a big enough taste of California that they will come back soon for more. And since they left, Addie has been fighting her never-ending cold, Em has been out of school for a few days with her illness, Mama has been crazy trying to get all of our “appreciation” for our teachers completed, and a website finished. Yeah, I think we have returned to Chaos. Slowly but surely.

Another birthday comes along…

Wow. You all sure do know how to make a girl feel loved.

I had an amazing day. Possibly one of the best birthdays ever. And I didn’t even notice, or care, that I turned thirty -s*cough* *cough*… ahem. Well, I didn’t even notice that I turned one year older today.

Thanks so much for all of the well wishes, phone calls, emails, facebook shout-outs, etc. It was such a fun day.

My darling little six-year old made sure that Daddy helped her with a chalk birthday card first thing this morning…

…and after gorgeous flowers (Thanks Meesh, Deej & girlies!) and some fun gift certificates, (and $$ towards a new lens!! Eeeee…Thanks J, Mom & Dad!), we headed to the happiest place on Earth. (Huge thanks to Jeff!) And, yes – Disney really is where I wanted to spend my birthday.

And it was perfect. No lines, hardly any waiting, no crowds, all the best rides, and beautiful weather. I couldn’t have asked for a better day. Plus, the memory of hearing my Mom on the Indiana Jones ride…I’m still not sure if she was crying or laughing…but it was hysterical!

Cinco de Mayo at Disney

Thanks everyone for making me feel so very loved. It was an amazing day.

Crafty Tuesday

My parents are here this week – well, until tomorrow – so I haven’t had a chance to craft much again.

But before they came Addie and I had a little crafty day with her friend, while their older sisters went to a birthday party. We had found a little suncatcher kit and did some painting.

These were the two I completed…

And these was the day’s haul…

It was a fun little activity. Although it was not washable paint…um, sorry Erin! I hope it came out of little E.’s dress!

And, I made this one little card for the birthday party. I love how it turned out and I was thinking I would make some as backups, but I guess I would have to make some with like 4, 5, and 6 little tags. Eh, maybe it isn’t really something I can make ahead of time.

I haven’t had a lot of time to read blogs this week, but I’ll be catching up later in the week!

A little sharing between sisters ~ Best Shot Monday

There are many, many reasons I love having two girls. Of course, some days I might need to be reminded of those reasons when Emma is trying to strong arm Addie into doing something, or Addie is tattling on Emma. But then there are moments like this, when my heart just swells with love to watch them…

Sharing a smoothie

Some things are just a bit sweeter when shared with your sister.

Happy May Day!

Still here. We have just been crazy busy. I never really thought of July as a particularly romantic month, but Holy Guacamole! We have had an insane amount of birthdays this month. We just got back from our fourth birthday party in the past 2 1/2 weeks. I’m “birthday’d” out.

We have also been madly trying to get some loose ends tied up before my parents get here (tomorrow!). I was cleaning up my April photos tonight before tomorrow – TOMORROW! You realize it is May 1st tomorrow, right? Craziness.

Anyhow, what was I saying? Mmmm…cleaning up, photos…oh yeah, I remember. So you may see some very out of order photos in Flickr. (Like Meesh and the girls and the beach…that happened at the beginning of April!)

And I found this photo of Em. I love it. She is so contemplative lately. And moody. It is like she is a 14-year old teenager trapped in a 6-year old’s body.

hmmm...

Surely a sign of good, good times ahead. Shesh.

Have a great weekend – and a Happy May Day!

Crafty Tuesday

Oh, I am so s-t-r-e-t-c-h-i-n-g for it today.

My parents are coming this weekend, so instead of crafting and doing crafty stuff…I’m trying to get our household in order. (Please, you know how that is…I’m not the only one who cleans like a maniac before family comes, right?)

So my cute dresses are still pinned together, but not sewn up. However…I did do some painting yesterday.

Courtyard painting

Of course it was spray paint,  on my patio set.  Surely not very artistic, but it sure does make a difference on the patio furniture. Instead of white, dirty and a bit rusty…it is sleek, polished and black! I think it looks really nice against our wrought iron gates.

And we have been doing a little more gardening, but I did not get pics of that. Plus, until our plants grow…there isn’t much excitement there.

We are however growing some other fun stuff that I do have photos of…
A bug infestation...
We’ve got bugs! Addie got a caterpillar and a ladybug habitat for Emma for her birthday. And the eggs/larvae came this week. So we are babysitting the baby bugs and watching them grow until we can release them into our garden.

I told you it was a stretch today…how about all of you? Any good stuff to show?

A “Tiny” Tyke on a Trike ~ Best Shot Monday

Our little “Triker” in her first trike-a-thon.

As she was racing around the track on Saturday, I caught myself yelling “Go, Tiny!” And I thought, “she is probably really going to hate that nickname in a few years.”

Plus, she is anything but “Tiny,” anymore. And she was not even that “Tiny” when she was born. But when she came out she seemed just so much tinier than our two-and-a-half year old who was at home waiting to be a big sister. J. kept calling her “Tiny” and, I guess, it just sort of stuck.

Tiny tyke on a trike

Even though she is pedaling fast towards being four-years old (a little too quickly if you ask me!), she is, and always will be our sweet, little “Tiny” Rosey-Toes. And she did us proud on Saturday.

And, all the pieces of my triathlon relay team is now complete. Em can run, Ad can bike, and Mama will swim. Perfect.
