Crafty Tuesday

Oh, I am so s-t-r-e-t-c-h-i-n-g for it today.

My parents are coming this weekend, so instead of crafting and doing crafty stuff…I’m trying to get our household in order. (Please, you know how that is…I’m not the only one who cleans like a maniac before family comes, right?)

So my cute dresses are still pinned together, but not sewn up. However…I did do some painting yesterday.

Courtyard painting

Of course it was spray paint,  on my patio set.  Surely not very artistic, but it sure does make a difference on the patio furniture. Instead of white, dirty and a bit rusty…it is sleek, polished and black! I think it looks really nice against our wrought iron gates.

And we have been doing a little more gardening, but I did not get pics of that. Plus, until our plants grow…there isn’t much excitement there.

We are however growing some other fun stuff that I do have photos of…
A bug infestation...
We’ve got bugs! Addie got a caterpillar and a ladybug habitat for Emma for her birthday. And the eggs/larvae came this week. So we are babysitting the baby bugs and watching them grow until we can release them into our garden.

I told you it was a stretch today…how about all of you? Any good stuff to show?

  1. Oh the bug habitat is gross, sorry. I know I should be more in tune with it, having three boys. BUT I am not.

  2. I think painting is definitely crafty, no stretching there! They look great and I bet do they do look very nice against the wrought iron gates. I clean lots before family comes, too. You want to leave a good impression, right??

Love that little bug habitat. What a great gift for Em and a great learning opportunity. I’d like to get a butterfly one…did you do that one year?

I got two dresses sewed up last week, but only one is modeled. She wanted to wear the first one today again, but alas it was still in the wash. At least she loves to wear them. :)

  3. I love the new look of your patio furniture. We did the butterflies last year. Harper has been asking for more caterpillars so we will probably have to order some soon. I might have to do the lady bugs too. She really enjoyed watching the transformation.

  4. It sure does make a difference! What a facelift. And yes, I say it counts. Everything counts in my book. ;)

I would love to do a butterfly kit with Nadia. She would get such a kick out of that!

  5. Oh my, I’m almost embarrassed to admit that we’re avid ladybug killers around here. But then, they’re also so many of them that they swarm and bite you, so we’re allowed, right? :)

Don’t you love spray paint. Just point and shoot, and you’ve given new life to just about anything. ;)

  6. Swarm and bite you?? Yikes! You must have the Asian ladybugs…they look almost exactly alike, but bite.
Ours, and those we find and release, do not bite…thankfully! The girls found and collected 25 of them the other day – they are so good for my roses that get plagued with the aphids!

  7. We raised painted ladies last Spring…so fun!

There is a local place around here that sells monarchs and more…we need to get there~

Love the chair re-do…and I clean like a maniac for family and friends…..I am getting better, not as bad as I use to be :)
