Looking in ~ BSM

This is the time of year that, like most, I try to make some sort of resolution. Although I really don’t like to call them resolutions because if I think of them as resolutions, I think they tend to not get accomplished.

Last year, besides the usual vow of trying to “get healthier,” I resolved to be a little nicer to myself and try to cut myself some slack. I think I kind of succeeded. I know that I am in a much happier place than I was even last year. And I did a pretty good job of accomplishing everything I wanted to, although I’m still struggling with that saying “no.”

Looking in

When I really sit and have a look at it all, I have realized that having a nice long to-do list, volunteering at all the school events, helping out at church, having a little crafty business, running a Daisy troop – it all adds up to one big, chaos-filled life. But man, it is a fun and very good life. I really do love every minute of it.

So no resolutions this year. I’m going to just go with the flow. Continue on as we have been doing and see where this year takes us.

Everyone’s a photographer.

My new camera has become a fun toy for everyone who runs across it.

It has been in Addie’s hands (and camera strap FIRMLY around her neck) nearly as much as it has been in mine. Last night she was shooting portraits, and she had some pretty good shots. She took this one of Papa…

And this one of Nana…

Oops. Well, 99 out of 100 isn’t too bad. Actually after she took this one she looked at the display and said, “Oh, no. I forgot Nana’s head in this picture!”

Then, Nana decided to get behind the camera instead of getting her head cut off. And she captured some sort of sugar rush craziness that had enveloped my children. They were right there on the floor in the middle of the circus at Nana & Papa’s house…

The girls and I have decided that enough is enough. We need to get out of here before we all turn into snowmen…

We actually really are heading out today. J. left yesterday for a quick trip to the east coast and the girls and I are getting ready to drive back to Chicago to catch an early morning flight on Monday. Then we’ll meet back up with J. in good ‘ol, sunny, warm, LA.

We just might be thawed out after the five hour flight.

Happy New Year!

All of us here at Chaos (even Bear!) raise a glass and send you all a hearty “Cheers!” for a happy and healthy New Year!

Raise a glass to 2010

None of us made it til midnight last night. We toasted with our sparkling juice (and fancy cups!) and celebrated by getting a little extra sleep.

Hope your 2010 started off with a bang! And thanks for hanging with us over here throughout the years. I have a feeling we are in for a great year ahead!
