Dipy #5 ~ self portrait

Dipy Week #5 - Self

If there is one thing I hate more than photos of myself, it is a self portrait. Of course, I agonized over what to do and how to shoot this for so long, I literally had a 10-minute window to try to get something this afternoon, just so I could send it to Kimberly in time. So while Kimberly looks all glam in non-mommy clothes, make-up and all – you get me how I usually look on any given Wednesday. T-shirt, jeans, no make-up…and like I am many days, peeking out from behind my camera.

(We still make a pretty sweet looking duo though, huh?)

Stop over to see all the faces behind all of the Team-Up Thursday pairs today.

Dipy Week #4 ~ Team Up Thursday

It was my turn to pick the theme this week and I chose Family. I thought since we had a 4-day weekend we might be able to figure out a cool family shot. It was a lot harder, A LOT HARDER than I thought.

But I swear to…well, I don’t like to swear to “something,” but I absolutely promise you that I thought, “maybe I can get a shot of all of our feet?” And I actually told J. that I was going to try to do it.

And then…well the weekend slipped away and everyone went back to school and work and I was left with an empty family of sneakers instead.

And then? I open Kimberly’s shot last night…

Dipy Week #4

SERIOUSLY?! It is almost eerie. I mean, for having never met and living on absolute opposite sides of the country, how is it that she and I are so completely “in tune” with each other?

I love it. And I absolutely adore her feet photo. Raya’s sweet little feet crossed is almost too much. I think this one needs to be framed over the mantle. And I think I’m going to steal this idea and recreate it, too.

Team Up Thursday ~ Week 3

Dipy #3 - Circles

Circles! That was our theme this week.

J and I were wandering around on Ft. Lauderdale beach this past weekend when I casually mentioned that I had to find something with circles to shoot. And then,  J. immediately spotted this overturned boat.  I shot some others but I really liked this one.

Then I got that same rush again this week when I opened Kimberly‘s photo and knew  how cool ours would look together. AGAIN! I love her shot, all the perfect circles radiating out from each other. And I’m loving this challenge. Have you noticed that I haven’t shot either one of the girls for our challenges yet? I’m constantly on the lookout for new things to photograph and new angles, new light. It has done my little hobby here a world of good.
