The one where I…

…started this last night to wish my sis good luck today, and then figured my fever would be gone and I could think more clearly today and I would just finish this up in the morning.

Well…the fever rages on. Day three. I feel crummy and my head and neck only stop throbbing when they are in a horizontal position, but I really want to get this up here!

So sending a little GOOD LUCK shout-out to Meesh as she begins her 3-day walk today, although I don’t think she’ll need it – she is prepared! We are rooting for you all the way, and we are so very proud of you. Walk on, sister!

And thank you if you donated to her walk and a great cause. If you haven’t, you still can! She is soooo close. Plus, remember the deal? Still totally stands. Although it might be a few days til this fever finally gets out of town and I can get any sort of crafting done. Even if you can’t donate a lot – remember every single dollar helps.

I wish I could be there walking alongside her, but for me it is back to a fun-filled evening of piling on sweatshirts and blankets only to turn around and need to strip down to underwear because my skin is on fire. Good times, good times.

Good luck, Meesh! Love you.

Walk This Way…

I have been meaning to put up a plea for my lovely sister for weeks now. She is walking in the Susan G. Komen 3-day walk for Cancer this coming August. And she needs our help. She needs to raise a lot of money…$2300 to be exact! She is about a quarter of the way there, and as much as I’d love to just donate enough to cover her, it just isn’t in the budget.

BUT…I racked my brain and have come up with something I can do. For you…my fantastic blog readers, I will send a crafty treat your way if you donate to her trek. Pop over there, dig into your pockets, donate, and then come back and leave a comment!

For a $25 donation I will send you a personalized coffee cozy or water bottle cozy like these. But…for a $50 donation I will send you your choice of a lickety-split bag, a kidlet, or a pillowcase dress (if you have a little girl).

It feels like every few months I find out someone I know is battling some form of breast cancer. Thankfully my mom, Grandma M., and my friend Vic have beaten it. But last year over 40,000 women died from breast cancer in the United States alone and we need to find a cure so that our girls, and their girls, don’t have to worry about it.

So please, if you can, sponsor my sister in her 60-mile walk. And remember, every little bit helps. Thanks!
