Serious trip to the Park – Best Shot Monday

The girls were very subdued at the park yesterday. Lots of serious, “thinking” shots. I had one of Ad all picked out because it made me laugh out loud when I brought it up. And then I came across this one.

I am always surprised when I come across a photo of the girls that literally takes my breath away. Just an opportunity to stop and admire innocence and beauty for a moment. To forget about the frustrations and trials of the week, and just have that “breathtaking” pause of peace.

Okay, because I cannot resist, I will put up two this week. This was my original BSM before I fell in love with the one of Em.

That is a classic A. look. She is mad because her Crocs are full of sand. It cracks me up everytime I look at. Seriously, I get this look. A lot.

The rest of our park photos are up at Flickr and for more great BSM photos, hop over to Tracey’s.

Photo of the Day

I haven’t done a Photo of the Day or Week in awhile. I took these yesterday morning at our new park. The girls LOVE the park, and I love that it is just far enough, that it is a good workout if I walk or run pushing the jog stroller. (That is nearly 70 pounds with two munchkins and the stroller! “Heaby!” as A. would say!)

Yes, I tried to tame the ‘do with a bow. She kept it in for a good hour and a half or so, but then realized on the way home that it was in, and promptly removed it. The static from the slide and tunnels just makes the hair look even wilder than it already is. But I love her sweet little look (and tongue!).

We are so blessed. Happy Friday, Everyone.

These Crocs were made for walkin’…

contemplation

A. is obsessed with shoes. The shoes-of-the-week are these orange crocs that E. wore all last year. They are at least 2 sizes too big, but she clearly does not care and refuses to take them off.

She is a girl on a mission. Such fierce determination.

Meanwhile, this is Em’s shoe of choice…

nakey feet

Nakey toes! She wants to take her shoes off at the park all the time that I have to play “bad Mommy” and make her put her shoes back on.

And here is a photo of Em, just because. Just because I love it and think it is so beautiful. I’m not sure why I love it so – you can’t really even see her face, but just that top part of her head. That part that I love to kiss. It is so sweet.

Happy Wednesday.

Randomness…

I don’t have much to say today (What?! Shocking, I know!), so I’ll be short and sweet.

Maybe I’ll put up some of our park pics – and brag a little about how amazing our weather is right now! (hee hee…who is stupid for moving to California, now?)

Here goes our Random Thursday…

In our “Hair Idol” voting it looks like Em’s bangs are going to be around a little longer…the majority seem to think she looks good with them getting longer. I agree, but I’m really kinda in Michelle’s camp. I think they make her look so old. I’m freaking out a little on the fact that she is going to be 4! In one month! Jeez. Have children and you get suddenly propelled into warp speed. Please. Slow. Down.

Part of the reason this is going to be short today is because of Em, actually. She is home with a little fever. I am sure that Denise is doing an amazing job, but I really want to be there to keep an eye on it. Em has not been sleeping well (I know, I can’t win.) and has been particularly cranky this week…I’m sure it is all related. So she needs a little TLC, I think.

Addie on the other hand has been a sleeping champ! And I cannot believe the difference in her personality. It has been a complete 180 turnaround from last week. I think I will definitely be able to find something to write about tomorrow when she turns 18 months, unlike last month. *sniff, sniff* Again. Pleaaasse. Stop growing up so fast. Please just stay little a little longer.

Okay, as promised. Some cute pics for those of you with snow still. Come visit – it is gorgeous here!

Best Shot Monday

So today’s “best shot” isn’t any great genius photographic shot. I was taking pictures of the girls in their new swimsuits (so cute and $6 each on clearance! Thank yooouuu, Old Navy!) and told Addie that I could see her bee-bo (belly button, you will understand if you are a Sandra Boynton fan…) and here she was checking to see if her bee-bo was still there, and the pic after is my “best shot Monday” pic. I just love her expression. Well, and her plump, sweet toddler thighs….*sigh.*

where is my bee-bo?

Oooohh! There it is!
As always you can see the other shots on Flickr. Happy Monday, everyone!

Best Shot Monday

Okay, so it is 3 hours early here, but I guess it is already Monday on the East Coast, so in that case – I’m right on time! I am not sure if I’ll have a chance to post tomorrow, we have had a hectic weekend around here and it looks to be a very busy week.

I’ve been doing “photos of the day” occasionally, but I thought it would be a nice touch to do a more regular photo day. Tracey over at Picture This does a “My Best Shot Monday” and invites her readers to join in, so I thought that I would start trying to post my favorite shot of the previous week.

So, let’s get to it.  I may have 2 best shots – I can’t pick between my two girlies!  And that is the case this week. My two best shots from last week…

Random stuff for a rainy day…

It is raining in Southern California today! Not just a little, either. We had an all-out, rainy, chilly, perfect for hot cocoa, kind of day. It was nice. Tomorrow is supposed to be more of the same so the girls and I will be baking!! This weather really does help with the Christmas spirit, it is beginning to look a lot like Christmas around here.

The girls, preparing for the great rainstorms!

Em and her boots

Before all of the rains yesterday I took a few pictures of the preparations for the big parade. This is our front yard…

Bleachers as far as the eye can see..

It is going to be so much fun. I can’t believe the parade marches literally through our front yard! And we got tickets for the Big Game, too. (Go Blue!)

And two final pics today – just because everyone keeps asking me. Yes, the leaves (some of them) do change color, and some of them fall off the trees, too. But, remember when I took this picture it was the middle of December and nearly 70 degrees. Even if you miss a little Christmas snow, you can’t beat SoCal weather!

If one picture says a 1,000 words…

…then I’m “photo-ing” my blog tonight. I’m tired. I’m sure you don’t really want to read an entry from me when I can’t even remember what day of the week it is. So here is our day in review via photos…

(Yes, it is exhausting to marvel constantly over how cute these two are! Maybe that is why I’m so tired tonight?)

Give it to Addie, she likes anything! Yogurt for breakfast anyone? This was before the bowl went on the head as a “hat”. Yogurt is good for the hair though, right?

Addie likes it!

We met some friends for a picnic and some playtime in the park. Emma is trying so hard to be about 2 inches taller. They were also playing “store” and selling their lunches to each other under the slide. Emma got quite a bargain…she bought her own pb&j sandwich and apple juice box for “only $50, Mama!” My little shopper!

Em Stretching…

Addie was not so interested in the “pahk” today until after she had sampled all of the picnic food.

M & M on this cool little ball. This “cuteness” moment lasted for about 30 seconds before all hell broke loose and they tried to push each other off and claim the ball for their own. Didn’t get a picture of that, since I was trying to diffuse the situation.

Em and the ball

And finally…Addie finished up the day strong. Eating again, and making a huge mess, the two things the girl does best!

Come here, girl. Good girl!

This is how Em and I spent our morning…trying to get Addie to sit in one spot so I could get a decent Christmas card pic.

Come Here!

Isn’t this the funniest picture? E. is such a great big sister when she wants to be. I had so much fun just letting them run around and chase each other while I snapped away. Now, I have 200 pics to go through and figure out if any of them will work. Gotta love digital cameras. One of them is just going to have to do. I’ll put up the leftover pics after I decide which one you’ll all be getting in your mailbox.

The Christmas attire did help with my grinch-y attitude, though. Tonight I’m going to finish calendars, I think that’ll help for sure.
