Hair Today…Gone Today.

Yep. We went to the Kiddie Kuts today. Emma wore me down. But believe me, I tried everything to dissuade her.

I even pulled out the…”But ballerinas have to have their hair long so that they can wear their hair in buns!” move. It was not deterring her. After much agonizing (mine) and pleading (hers) we trekked over to get her haircut “Short. Like Mommy’s.”

The last photo of “the hair.”

The before pic

Loping the pigtails off.

Off go the pigtails

“Oh, Em! What did you do?”

Em, what did you do?

She has already claimed that the pigtails are going to be her items for Share Day tomorrow. (Ew.)

Guess what I'm taking for share day tomorrow?

And she has stopped to “fluff” her new ‘do in every mirror, all evening long.

She loves it.

Hair in the mirror

And you know what? I do, too.

I love it.

  1. Truly beautiful…….. and with that out. All I heard after ballet class was my Emma saying “so tomorrow we will get my hair a little shorter just like Emma and Carries, I want to look just like that !”
Thanks Mama the trend is set ! : )
I must say it is a perfect cut.

  2. oh no! V’s is so long right now. I’m trying to get her to let us cut it, just about two inches at least. She’s not having it. “Princesses have long hair.” It really is adorable on Em though.

  3. BEAUTIFUL!!!
I almost gasped when realized she was getting it cut – but she looks so pretty with her new cut. It shows off her lovely face more. I love the happy grin of hers that you caught in the mirror as she admired her new ‘do.

I laughed at the photo of Addie looking shocked at the proceedings. That kid has THE best facial expressions! Truly!

  4. Oh, Emma, you are beautiful. You sure look a lots more like Mom. And yes, it makes her look older. And Bean it will grow back.

  5. She looks darling. And like a little mini Carrie! (I won’t mention that she also looks older…) I’ve been thinking about chopping N’s curls off since they’re always such a mess…but it just kills me to do that.

  6. I LOVE IT!!! It makes her look even more beautiful than she was before (and so much more like her pretty Mom)! You gave it a good fight but that smile on her face must make losing a little more palatable! She really is a gorgeous girl!

  7. It looks lovely and cute and fresh and 6!

I went through the same inner struggle 2 years ago when my dd cut off 12 inches for Locks for Love. All the way up to her chin!!!! I cried after she went to bed but I celebrated her independance….and I kept reminding myself it does grow back~

    Way to go Emma!

  8. I guess I’m the weird one. I think it is adorable like everyone else…but, I think it makes her look younger! That’s a good thing, right?

  9. Well… I think you can tell from Zoe that I like short hair on girls. I keep thinking about growing Zoe’s out…. but it just looks so cute short. And it’s so much easier to keep neat. Emma looks adorable.
