Winter Wonderland ~ Theme Thursday

Well, I guarantee our take on Winter Wonderland will be quite different than most of the other Theme Thursdays for today.

Instead of playing “king of the hill” on top of snowbanks – we frolic in great, heaping piles of leaves and at best hope for maybe a rainy day or two.

And this is our version of the “snow angel” -

Making leaf angels

We can visit the snow (about an hour away) whenever we choose, but…really, why would we want to?

Considering it is almost impossible to get them to wear long sleeves, I think these California girls would agree that snow is waaaay over-rated!

  1. I love your snow angel! I haven’t done the assignment yet but it’s supposed to 78 here today. Hopefully I’ll get one up later.

  2. The snow (leaf) angel is great. We don’t get much snow in TN either, but it’s not short sleeve weather. I am only a little bit jealous. Great shots!!!

  3. Yes, I am with you on snow beign over-rated! When we visited family last Dec in Missouri, both hubbie and I would wake up to a sunny day and wonder how in the hek it could be 20′. I think all the sun fried our brains…. ;)

    Hoping for some rain too!
    :)

  4. OH LOVELY LEAVES!!!! Our trees finally dropped the last of our just after Christmas. Just in time for rain. . . . I keep waiting for the rain. We’re in CA too – central valley.

  5. I think it would be more fun to hit a pile of leaves in short sleeves than a pile of snow all bundled head to toe. ;) Love these shots – the girls look like they are having a great time judging by their pretty smiles. :)

  6. You really have the best of both worlds – gorgeous mild CA winter, but snow easily within reach. I do enjoy our short-sleeve days in January, but I’d love to visit the snow too! It’s many hours away from here.

  7. You sound like us. Should we want to drive a little ways we can find snow but otherwise, nothing but brown around our place. ;) Cute pictures of playing in the leaves.

  8. I would think that the allure of snow would be much greater since you don’t have it right outside your door several months out of the year. And especially if it’s only an hour away! But if there is an aversion to sleeves, then I can see that there might be a problem…because brrr!
