Hooray for Babies!

J. and I just went to see the movie Juno, which was most excellent! It is a great date night movie.

And for the tiniest moment I wanted to feel the miracle of being pregnant again.

Then I remembered the three to four months of constant puking (with both pregnancies) and the extreme tiredness in every bone of my body, and the inability to heave myself off of the sofa as I reached epic whale-like proportions. Oh, and that is the easy part. The hard part begins the minute they make that grand entrance into the world.

Ugh. So I decided instead, I am going to live vicariously through my bloggy friend Colleen who just found out she is expecting a little brother or sister for Zoe! Go on over and see Zoe letting the “cat out of the bag.”

I am so very excited for all of them – congrats, Colleen!

(And I’m sure that your pregnancy is going to be easy and wonderful. And the baby will sleep like a champ from the moment you bring them back home! Hee…)

  1. Yay for a date night with your hubby – fun stuff!

Juno is not playing in our city or near our city so will wait till it comes out on DVD to see!

I too have recently felt the need and want for a little one in my arms again……… With my boy losing his first tooth – akk – and also my girl was so sick her first year that many of those joyous “firsts” moments felt a bit stripped from us – but we are done – - well I am done with being pregnant so perhaps a child will find us another way! ;)

  2. Awww…. thanks so much.

I feel that we’re doomed with this baby. It’s got a lot to live up to after Zoe. She gave me the easiest pregnancy. I’ll probably jinx us… but she has also always been a wonderful eater and sleeper. We’re convinced we’re in for it with the second one. It’s going to come and wreak havok. haha

Or… we’ll be the luckiest parents on earth and the second will be just like Zoe.

  3. Hooray for babies AND Juno! We loved that movie so much!

You sound like me…trying to convince yourself that you don’t want another. Part of me really does want another baby…and part of me *really* doesn’t. At least now. But as excited as I am for Colleen and my other friends with recent babies/babies on the way, it really doesn’t help subdue the longing. ;o)

  4. I love holding my friends’ babies…so that gives me my fix! Pregnancy was not fun for me, so I really don’t miss that at all. We had permanent measures taken so there is no baby in our future. ;)

  5. Well said Carrie. It is easy to romanticise the process! Having said that, apart from severe heartburn and a lack of desire by BA to enter the world (2 weeks overdue and induced) my pregnancy wasn’t that bad. Still, yay for vicarious pregnancies and babies!!!

  6. hooray for colleen! and after seeing you pregnant with Addie, I’m so surprised you ever tried it twice. Lucky for you that you did!
