The Devil On My Shoulder.

Why did Jamie set the alarm for 6:30am?
Hmm…I might have told him last night I needed to run.
It is so early and so cold out.
And our new bed feels so, so good and is so, so warm.
If you don’t get up and do it now (it is already 6:35…), you won’t get a chance to run later.
But my arms and stomach are so sore from yoga class yesterday, maybe I can skip running today.
Bathing suit. In two weeks.
But it is two weeks away, and it is still sort of dark outside.
You ate far too many girl scout cookies last night.
Oh, those @!*& cookies.

(Drag self out of bed. Fumble for some clothes and running shoes.)

It is cold.
Add legs to the mix of achy body parts.
43 degrees! That can’t be right.
Actually, it probably is right. (As lungs scream from the intake of cold air.)
Okay, we’ll just do a quick run.

We’ve made it to one mile – might as well do another now that the kinks have been worked out.
Doesn’t feel as cold, and oh…I love this song!
Need to make a new playlist for running.
But make sure this one is still on it.
Funny it is called FASTER, and I think it makes me run faster, too.

(Round the corner to go back home)

Wow…ok. We are lucky to live here.
It’s going to be a Good Morning.

  1. That sounds very much like conversations I have with myself, except I usually end up staying in bed. : ) I bet you are glad you got that run out of the way. It definitely makes the day better.

  2. I have a very similar internal dialogue…but my stops with snoring and five more minutes of sleep! I have to learn to get better about getting out of bed in the mornings!

  3. I am with Jen…I usually stay in bed! I have been having a hard time working out lately. Not working out = me sewing, so I guess it is a trade-off. ;)

  4. No, like you I make myself do it and am always glad I did. That photo is amazing! You are in the City of Dreams! “Everyone’s got a dream. What’s YOUR dream?”
