New Addition to the Family

Ha! It is NOT what you think, and it isn’t to our little family, but rather our extended family. My parents just got a new puppy yesterday…here is the first released picture of the little guy.

He is a little fluffy, sweet golden retriever. I think he is one of the cutest things ever. I told the girls that Nana and Papa have a new puppy and they are so excited. Of course, Emma told me the other day that when our kitties die and go to heaven with Tuck, we can get a puppy instead. Apparently the novelty of having cats is over with her.

And Addie adores puppies. She points them out wherever we go and makes sure everyone sees the puppy and I think would really love a puppy. Someday. I just know, no matter how old the girls are, I will be the one taking care of the puppy. And we are just busy – I would feel bad that the puppy wouldn’t be getting enough attention. Cripes, our cats barely get the minimum quota of affection any more, I don’t think adding a puppy to the mix is going to help that any.

Anyhow, we are going to all live vicariously through Nana and Papa and enjoy their new puppy. As of press time, the little guy is still nameless. Anybody have any interesting puppy names they would like to contribute for consideration? He is a boy puppy. Golden retriever, like I said. Just leave your names in the comments as I am sure Papa at least will read them. Maybe we’ll do a little contest – if they use your name, you’ll win a prize. Not sure what yet – but something good!

  1. S.S.T – - Stan Sings Tenor!!!!!!! We’re barbershop friends of Stan’s -

  2. He’s probably the sweetest looking doggy I have ever seen…………….he looks like warm brown sugar. I’ll be thinking about good names for him.
Wecom to the family you lucky Dog!

  3. I hate coming up with names for animals, but I just wanted to say how adorable he is and I am sure someone will think up something very appropriate for him. Good luck and enjoy! Nancy

  4. How precious is he?! I’m exhausted from naming our recent female puppy, but if I come up with any I’ll post them.

  5. This was actually sent to Papa via email – but we’ll post it here too to get all of your juices flowing. Also to give credit to Rosalie in case they choose one of the many (very good!) names she offered up….

I really do not have a problem with Reese, after all Kathy Lee Gifford named her dog Regis. LOL Anyway we, Re and Ro, have come up with the following suggestions:

    A. Al, Able. Andy or Ace
    B. Buster or Brute
    C. Clipper or Carmel
    D. Duke or Dan (Tammy named her coon hound Duke)
    E. Eddie or Elroy
    F. Fido or Fritz
    G. George or G.L. for Golden Lab
    H. Harmonize or Harmony maybe even Harold
    I. Iggy
    J. Jack
    K. Kappie, Kippie or King
    L. Lucky
    M. Marvel, Maurice or Magic
    N. Nate
    O. Oscar or Orson
    P. Pup, Peanut, Punkin, Pete or Prince
    Q. Quinn
    R. Ralph, Roy, Rex or Rover
    S. Stew or Speedy
    T. Tom or Tuck
    U. Ulysses
    V. Victor or just Vic
    W. Wee Wee Willie Williams or W4
    X. X-Caliber
    Y. Yeller
    Z. Zeke or Zoro

I guess it depends on what you want his initials to be.
I realize that you did not ask for my help, but you got it anyway Ro

  6. Kaiser…

The idea of “king” stood out to me in the above list of potential dog names. And Kaiser is the german word for King, since we’re in Germany it seemed fitting.

It’s a cute little name and the meaning is their since he’ll pretty much run the house!

  7. zess,sam,buddy,guy,stanely,brownie
come on pick one pick mine so i get the prize

  8. I was never good at naming dogs either, but “Boss” keeps popping in my head. Kind of along the lines of Jackie’s comment —let’s face it next to grandkids he’s going to rule the house!

  9. Okay, I jjust had another thought Stan — you could have one of your friendly rivalries with Jamie and Carrie and call him Spartie!

  10. I think he looks like a Waldo… don’t really know why. That was the first name that popped into my head. Although, Wee Wee Willie Wiliams totally made me lol. I also liked Michelle’s comment about brown sugar… I think Brown Sugar would be cute and you could shorten it to Brownie, but that might just make you hungry all the time. :-)
Good luck! He’s a cutie. I don’t envy you the training, but he’s sure to be a good dog.

  11. okay, I own up — maybe just maybe my kids get their instigation skills from me :o )

  12. I think he should be called “Nameless” because he’d be the only one with that name. Seriously, I like (butterscotch) Chips or Chipster, and Uncle Mert likes Burglar (because he steals everything that’s not nailed down.) When will we find out what his name will be? Aunt C.

  13. I’m all for Ziggy …. Ziggy Stardust when he does sometihing that demands his entire name to be used. I like Taxi too.

Cutie! Enjoy and remember, as Bob Barker likes to say….”control the pet population, have your pet spayed or neutered”
