Crafty Tuesday

I was going to sneak on here and post and pretend like it has been up all day, but I think I have a few followers who check Chaos first thing in the morning and I’m afraid they would definitely call me on it.

So yes, Tuesday is nearly over, and I’m just now getting CT up for the week. I finally finished Addie’s little study quilt like Em’s.

Hers is much…pinker, and cat-filled, but still just as snuggly. Plus now J. and I don’t have to fight over Em’s quilt each night on the sofa. The quilts go together very quickly – maybe I should just make a more subdued one to leave out on the sofa, make Daddy his own study quilt?

Most of all of the Two Birdies free time this week has been finishing up the pottery project we are doing for our school’s Silent Auction. Each class has a pottery piece and each kid at our school has a little spot for their artwork and name.

So we have 15 pieces floating around, and we have sat with over 300 kids in the past few weeks working on getting them to make their “mark.” Now we are finishing the pieces so they can go to the kiln and be auctioned off to the highest bidder. Once they come back all finished and shiny, I’ll post more pics of them. (Excuse the hastily taken iphone photo.) I think it is back to the paintbrush in the meantime…

  1. I’m sure Addie loves her kitty filled quilt! Anya is a huge fan of kitties, too. :)

I actually have two crafty posts in the last 24 hrs (I guess I should pay more attention of when I date the posts LOL!). I have been doing a lot of sewing lately.

  2. I bet Addie was so excited to get her quilt. It turned out really cute. Sounds like you have your hands full with that pottery project.

  3. That pottery idea is amazing. Who will get to keep them? I once did a knitting bee with a Year 6 class (boys AND girls) and put all the squares together into a padded quilt. We then auctioned it at the school fete.
Seeing Addie’s quilt has made me feel guilty. Mine is still sitting on the chair, pinned to the wadding and backing and waiting for me to actually QUILT it! *sigh*

  4. Geeze, finally! (Kidding, so kidding. But I’m sure that’s what Addie was thinking.) LOL!

Such a great idea with the pottery. And what a huge amount of work. I bet your school is happy to have you on board. :)
