Dipy Week #36 ~ Autumn

autumn.jpg

Cool, fall-like temperatures? Well, today was the coolest it has been all week, and I think it was a balmy 92 degrees. Crisp, red and orange-hued leaves? Um…nope, we don’t have any of those here yet either.

But it sure does feel like autumn around here. The kids are back to school, it is football season, and all things pumpkin are back in the stores and coffee shops. (Mmmm…why do you mock me pumpkin scones?) Autumn is by far my favorite season. And around here it also means that avocados, lemons and even persimmons are almost ready for picking.

Plus, we won’t have to do any raking of lovely leaves like Kimberly’s for at least a few more months around here. It is a win-win for everyone.

  1. It has been in the 90′s here too until this week. I have actually been putting a jacket on in the morning. It is so, so nice. I love autumn too. Your shots scream autumn to me and look perfect together.

  2. Avocados, lemons, persimmons…you really do live in fairyland, don’t you? ;) Actually I don’t like persimmons – I’ve bitten into too many what weren’t quite ripe, and that “cobwebby” feeling has scared me off! Love the detail on your shot, Care. We’re not getting red leaves around here, either!

    yes, yes we do! :-)
i have to admit we don’t like persimmons around here either – it is our neighbor’s tree that hangs over into our rose garden, so i get to see them and they *look* pretty…but i am not a fan of the taste!

  4. Persimmons? Is that what those are? I’m sure I must have heard of those once upon a time. :) (I know you think I’m joking, but I’m so not!) I’m going to have to go hunting one at the grocery store now.

And did I mention that I am soaking in the warmth and sunshine in your photo? It has been nonstop rain here since Sunday. And I am COLD! LOL!

  5. Well, now I want to try a persimmon just to see why they are not good. But you got such a great photo of it! Perfect Autumn dip, team.
