Thought I’d hop back in on the Theme Thursday train. I haven’t joined in since it moved on over to Amy Jo’s house, but she suggested Relaxation for today’s theme, and I happened to have some photos from last weekend that might just work.
One of my absolute favorite things to do is eat alfresco…I love to eat outside. Thankfully we can eat outside nearly year-round, but most of the time, we save it for the summer months.
Most days during the summer the girls and I will take a picnic to the park for lunch, or take a cooler of snacks to the beach, or just host playdates, appetizers and drinks (for the Mommys, of course!) on the patio in the late afternoon. I don’t really care what it is we are eating, it is just so relaxing and fun to be eating out in nature.
A lot of times during the summer we will grill out on Sundays evenings and eat out on the patio. This past week we resumed that summer ritual.

Emma recently discovered that she LOVES salmon. Plus we grilled asparagus, another of her favorites. Perfect dinner for her.
And yummy in-season berries with cream for dessert?
That is one delicious and fun way to relax…

It’s always nice to relax over a good meal. And eating out doors is always fun! Those are great shots! The second one really grabs me. That’s one of my favorite angles for shooting kids. Welcome back to the Theme Thursday fold!
Great shots. I also LOVE to eat outside. We’re out of propane, and haven’t fired up the grill yet this year, so…We have a squirrel that built a nest in our grill. I cleaned it all out a couple of weeks ago, but I noticed a couple of nights ago that she was climbing in there again. When I went to scare her away, she wouldn’t leave, so I’m afraid there might be little babies inside my grill now. I don’t even want to open it now.
Oh man, Matt! It might be worth it to open it! I don’t think I have ever seen baby squirrels before! We have huge, very bold squirrels who live in our avocado tree…but they clearly are bachelors. No babies sighted yet!
Oh YUM! I want to come and relax at your house…that looks awesome!

Oooh yes, nothing better than eating in the great outdoors. I would love to get a patio set here. And? I wish I were close enough to come by for one of your patio playdates – that sounds fantastic right about now!
A dinner outdoors sounds absolutely wonderful about now! For us, that time of year is coming to a close (until fall) because it gets so incredibly hot! You’re right, one of the best ways to relax!
