DIY ~ Theme Thursday

When I found out that this week’s Theme Thursday was DIY: Do It Yourself, I was a little stumped. We haven’t exactly been doing any house projects lately, and I’ve pretty much blown all of my crafty projects on Crafty Tuesday.

So I thought I would try to capture Addie as she “do it myself, Mama!” since that is pretty much all I hear these days. And that didn’t exactly pan out either. She and I have been a little bit on the “outs” this week. (Just picture LOTS of time in the corner, mostly for Addie…but occasionally for me, too! There have been numerous temper tantrums this week.)

And then last night, Em asked if I would help her figure out what she needed to do for her jog-a-thon for school next week. I told her of course I would help her, but as far as the phone calls and asking for sponsors? I told her “You will have to do it yourself.” Ohhhh…Ding, ding, ding!

So here is Em, drummin’ up business for her jog-a-thon next week and proving you can do it yourself if Mama helps you write out a little script. She is expecting to finish 10 laps (which would be 1.25 miles!) and right now if she does, she would raise over $200! Go Em! I think she can do it…she is after all her Mama’s girl!

And there is absolutely nothing cuter than listening to her read the script, and the look on her face when everyone said “yes.”

I unfortunately did not set up the photo session very well. I was trying to do dinner, baths, and help her with her pledge drive, so I just snapped a quick, few photos – but didn’t get any great photos. However, I like this one and I tried to salvage it a bit. I’m sure there are plenty more great photos over at Stacy’s today.

  1. So were the tantrums from Addie or you? LOL

I remember those days well although they were sometime ago. My BABY has turned 13 …. 3 teens in the house!

  2. Oh, good girl! I bet she will raise all that money, too. I bet that was so cute to watch her, too. :)

Hope Addie’s tantrums get better for the rest of your week. That is so hard!

  3. How sweet. I love the little smile on her face. You can tell she’s proud. I bet she will do the 10 laps without a problem.

  4. I had the same thought for DIY! I just didn’t get it together in time. I feel ya on the tough three-year-old week. Same here, my friend! Good for Em. That is just awesome, and I bet she’ll follow in her Mamma’s footsteps and complete her goals!

  5. All Addie needs is a good little dose of someone else saying, “I do it myself” and she’ll be just fine….HOORAY, one week from today!!!

Can’t wait to watch you in your jog-a-thon Emma, I’m sure you’ll make us all proud.

    Hang in there Bean.

  6. Your such a good mommy! So many parents just write a check so they don’t have to help at all….yay for you!

Hope Miss Addie comes around for the weekend….I remember those days~

    :)
