Crafty Tuesday

Are you sick of seeing these bags yet?

Sorry, it is all I’ve got again this week.

I tried to adapt the pattern a bit to make a reusable shopping bag for our friend Wendy, but unfortunately the proportions got a little out-of-whack. So it looks a little too long, and a little too skinny – but it might hold a gallon of milk and a loaf of long french bread? I just love the pear fabric, though. It is so cool. It is a prototype, I’m definitely going to work on a version 2.0.

I also put together a few bags for my nieces for their playroom. It wasn’t quite the color scheme I was thinking of doing, but then I saw this fabric.

A little french girl sitting at a cafe. It instantly reminded me of my Paris trip with my sister, and I fell in love with it. So this was the starting fabric for the project.

And I happened to have Wendy with me when I saw the fabric and she helped find some good coordinating fabrics (I’m not so good with that – but thankfully she really is!) and…Voila! Trois kidlets pour mon nieces!

So that is what I’ve got. I’m not expecting a whole lot since everyone is slowly ramping back up after Christmas, but if you did post something be sure to leave a little comment love…

  1. What pretty bags! I love your pear fabric, too. Did you print that yourself or did you go through spoonflower or another like it?

The Paris bags are so cute, too. I bet the girls will love them! Love the coordinating fabrics.

  2. Care, you’ve outdone youself. They’re all adorable and you know I love the ones that landed in TX!

  3. I’ve been looking at these bag pictures and I just love them! I have a question: why is there only one handle? Are they to hang somewhere? (aorry if you have already explained it and I missed it)

  4. Bunny – Yep, they are called kidlets and they hang from a hook or a doorknob to collect the little junk that kiddies seem to collect! The shopping bag does have 2 handles, and I think I’ll try to make some “real” bags – 2 handled ones for our non-kids. It is going to be bday presents for everyone on my list this year! :-)

  5. all of those fabrics are wonderful! those are awesome bags and no, I haven’t become tired of seeing them yet. :-)

  6. hey Carrie!:)

I love these! Where did you get that fabric? Love these:)
You are so creative. Wish I had an nth of your creativity.

  7. I am loving these bags, I printed out the directions but PDF files and my printer are not seeing eye to eye right now so the pages came out black. I have to figure that out.

The fabrics are the best! I think I need to commission you to make me one, not Harrison – ME! LOL! You are a made woman with that machine!

  8. That trio of bags is priceless! They are adorable. I guess if the computer gigs don’t pan out – you can open a boutique of kidlets!!! :)

  9. And when you get that pattern just right for the reusable shopping bags, yoiu can sell them next to the kidlets!
Who wouldn’t rather have an adorable reusable like that instead of the Target ones – or any of the other store ones that advertise themselves from miles away.
    :) I’d buy some!
