I have found a place to corral a tiny bit of Addie’s energy and give her a safe place to “hang” as she so dearly loves to do. We found a fun little gymnastics class.
She was a little unsure of Coach Doris at first. She is a little…um, shall we say…brusque? Just put it this way, she doesn’t have a lot of mat-side manner. But now that Addie is over the initial shyness, she is ready to try just about anything with Coach Doris’ help.
What she really loves is the rosin, chalk-like stuff to use on her hands…
More hangin’….
A little bit of tumblin’…
And astoundingly good balance!
It is fun exploring with the girls and trying to figure out what their “thing” might be. For Addie, gymnastics seems to fit for right now.

I just realized that I don’t have anything for Crafty Tuesday. I don’t have my work done for Work Project Wednesday next week either, so until after my Girl’s weekend, I may not have much to show. I’m positive Stacy has a thing or two, though…
I took my 3 y/o to one of these places and he LOVED it!!
Me? I’m loving your photos – they never cease to amaze me!! Could you let me know what kind of camera you use? I’m thinking it really needs to go onto my wish list!!
she looks like she loves it!
how sweet and fun for addie. do i see a glint of devil (oh excuse me I mean angel) in the ring picture? LOL
a girls’ weekend? I’m so happy for you and so envious for me :o)
I thought that stuff was chalk (I’ll admit it)
She’s so sweet!
That looks so fun. Though I must say I hate the way chalk feels on my hands.
That looks like a great way to get rid of the little extra energy! She looks like she is lovin’ it, too. Great shots of her having a great time.
Rosin is used by bullriders in rodeos to add “stickiness” to their bull ropes. It helps keeps their hands in the ropes. The saddlebronc and bareback bronc riders use it on their saddles and jeans, too, to help them stay in. Just thought I would let you know some useless trivia to tell Addie about the rosin. 😉
Well, I almost didn’t get any pictures taken this week, but last night I took some quick of the kids’ outfits for picture day at daycare today. That was last weekend’s project.
Mat-side manner…. too funny. Looks like she had a blast. I love the picture of her on the balance beam. I don’t think I could do that.
Looks like she’s a natural!! Aurely her smiles must break thru Coach Doris’ gruff demanor. She just looks too grown up there with the chalk…
How fun! I can see where that would be a great fit for your little busy bee! And that last shot is priceless — her smile just lights up an entire room!
Seriously, I think Harrison would like the gymnastics class. If I had some extra income, I’d let him try it out. as it is, he’s signed up for 10 more weeks of soccer. Oh, I published a pathetic post today – but I did think of you!
I put my son in gymnastics once and he flipped right into the big pit of styrofoam and scared everyone. I was used to it….he was always jumping off things!
Did she totally crash after this? I bet it was so good for her to run around and tumble!
Ummm I don’t know about brusque, but she seems a bit old to me. Sorry to be an ageist, but she might be the oldest gymnastics coach I’ve seen.
The BA used to love gymnastics too. Looks like Addie may be a natural.
