The greatest device ever?

Finally.

Saturday J. got his hot little hands on his very own (working!) iPhone, so now I don’t have to be all hush-hush about how amazing mine is any more.

FINALLY!

If you recall, J. waited in line for the phones on the Friday they came out. He got mine without any problems, but had many (many, many) problems with his. He had “bought” a phone, but since they were out of stock he had to wait for it. And even though they were getting more in stock all week, his phone was actually being shipped to him, so the store wouldn’t just give him one of the incoming phones. When his phone finally arrived, it was DOA. The girls and I tried to take it back to the Apple store for him but were only given an appointment for Saturday to bring it back in.

The guys at work were taking bets on whether J. would actually show up on Monday with an iPhone or not. As you can see, they lost. I was the only one who bet that he would indeed have one. (So pay up, boys!)

So on to how much I {heart} this phone.

  • The photos above…taken with my iPhone! (Pretty good quality, for a phone, eh?)
  • Traffic check, and mapping of an alternate route home from the aquarium the other day…done with my iPhone.
  • My ever expanding to-do list, always with me…on the iPhone.
  • My iPod that always seems to be dead -now it isn’t needed…I have my iPhone.
  • Can’t remember the name of a song?…wait, I have my iPhone. (Wicked cool program, it’ll listen to a bit of the song, figure it out, and bring it up on iTunes, so sweet.)
  • Surfing, blog reading, shopping, even writing my blogs…can do it all on the iPhone.
  • Check my calendar while dropping off Em’s friend to plan the next date…yep, it is all there, on my iPhone.

We are merely scratching the surface here, my friends. It is really indescribably cool. J. said to me tonight, “How can you deny that it is the coolest device, maybe ever?”

I can’t.

  1. It the pictures that convert me. I’ve never really gotten the whole uproar over a phone (I may be the last human being on a planet without *any* cell phone) but pics of that quality from a phone? That converts me. Not to mention, internet always at hand wouldn’t be a bad thing. ;)

  2. Wow – not only a great device….but what a hubby to let you have the one phone that came in while he patiently (maybe? maybe not?0 waited for his! what a guy!

That phone does look iike a ton of fun!! My kids are clamoring for one – yeah – right!!! I just got them perfectly fine new phones that were totally cool – until the new I-phone came out. (no internet or anything on theirs – but they are “slider phones.” And apparently that is cooler than mom’s “flip phone.”)

Could be a fun toy for the wish list! :)

Great photo! (how do you get it from phone to camera?)

  3. It sounds great, but I still don’t get all the hullabaloo over the iPhones. But I’m far from trendy, so I guess that probably has something to do with it.

I have internet capabilities on my phone, but I am resisting using it — I think I am already distracted enough, the last thing I need is to know that blog reading is right at my fingertips!

  4. OK, I the person that has resisted every technological doo-hicky since the fax machine…

That being said, every time a cave into the “newest Gadget” I sit back and wonder how I ever got along without it. If this iPhone thingy has the Carrie and James approval I might have to look into it. Does it come with instructions?

  5. You so remind me of Brian after he got his phone. Since the new ones came out, he’s raving about all of the apps.

  6. Nah,I can’t get excited. I’ve got blackberry on my phone and I’ve not even got it connected up. It’s my eyes you see. When I read emails I want them to be big enough so that I’m not squinting through my glasses. I don’t even use the calendar on my phone. I mainly use it for ……phone calls. Hell, it hasn’t even got a camera! :-)
    Still, glad you love yours.
