Crafty Tuesday

This is really kind of becoming a joke now, isn’t it? It isn’t that I am NOT being crafty, it is just difficult to showcase any sort of craftiness because most of them are tied to gifts for people, so I can’t really use them until after Christmas.

I am currently working on:

Decorating the house. I’d love to take a picture of the progress (it is so “pretty” around here according to the girls!), but somebody, I’m not naming any names, but somebody left my camera on. I just tried to take some pics and realized I have a dead battery. (Okay, it was probably me. But I’d really like to pass the buck on this one if I could.)

Our Christmas card. And I hate all of you who have sent yours out. Yes, I have received cards already. Come on, people! It is December 3rd!! You can’t be that organized. (And I don’t really hate you, you know.) I have had the “idea” for our card since this summer sometime. But did I do it then? No. Of course not. And pretty much the only available day we had to shoot it – it was a horrible, misty, cold, miserable day. So I am not entirely happy with any of the photos that we got. But I’m working with what I have, and hope to have them out this weekend. This was last year’s, if you don’t remember.

The Calendar. I started doing a calendar for the family when E. was a wee one, so it has evolved into an E & A production for the past 2 years. It is a lot of work, and even though I could start it in January…I never do. But I so love the process of putting it together and seeing how much the girls have changed over the past year. The hardest part is picking out my favorite photos for the month. I guess I don’t have the 2007 calendar up anywhere, the 2006 one (the first appearance of Addie) is up here, if you are interested. Man, that is a trip just looking through it!

Some gifts. I can’t really even mention what genre of craftiness this falls into. E. and I are making some gifts for some peoples.

5 Tutus. Yes, tutus. Two of which need to be completed before next weekend’s recital, and the others I’m making as gifts for some of our little ballerina friends.

And then I have 3 “work” projects going on. I could show those…but they are even more boring than a list of projects. So I think I’ll put you out of your misery now.

Anyone else got some exciting projects that they can show?

  1. Did I read that right, a “a horrible, misty, cold, miserable day” in California???? I didn’t think that ever happened.

  2. Yep, Papa. I think that about 10 days a year we get rain, and of course the beaches can be much cooler – just my luck it one of the ten days, THE day we decided to go.

  3. I’m with you… don’t have anything to show. I haven’t even begun to think about our Christmas cards…. and I just started the calendars last night…. HELP!!!!

  4. I have our Christmas card up today…don’t hate me. 😉 Last year I sent them out the day after Thanksgiving, so I was much more organized last year. Sounds like you are super busy being crafty! Can’t wait to see everything you get done. I have so much craftiness that I need to get done it is stressing me out. Tis the season for STRESS!

  5. Sounds like you’ve got LOTS of secret craftiness going on! I have so much to do and have ahrdly started any of it – where do I find the time??? The 2006 calander is adorable – can’t wait to see the new one! I wish you could share for crafty gift ideas…I love to give homemade gifts, but I’m really REALLY short on ideas this year.

  6. I just made 72 candy cane reindeer and hot glued the bases of 36 foam picture frames together. That’s the most I’ve used my hot glue gun in 2 years! All for a children’s holiday party this weekend. I miss being crafty.
