Daddy is somewhere over the Pacific Ocean right now on his way home to us! And I couldn’t be happier.
It is so funny how often I long for something, get it and then realize “oh, that isn’t what I wanted at all.” I *thought* having a few evenings to myself would be a great treat, but come to find out – I don’t like being a single parent. Even during a relatively ”easy” week with nothing more than our normal ballet, dance, piano, volleyball practice, choir, Girl Scouts routine (yeah, that is a normal week…) it is an exhausting week when you can’t check out for a bit when Daddy comes home.
And even when the girls are just being their sweet selves…
…it’s just not as fun without my most-excellent sidekick. So, welcome home, Daddy! And know you were very missed. xo
Happy for you that you have J back. Hope those guys had a wonderful birthday trip!
I so envy you this lovely relationship.
I know this story all too well.
I do enjoy some of the quiet alone time in the evenings when Nick is traveling. The tiny bit of quiet isn’t worth not being able to step away for a bit in the evening between dinner and bedtime.
