Good Intentions.

I had high hopes for Christmas vacation. We were going to rest, relax and enjoy the last few days of our vacation with our family in Michigan.  I was going to take lots of photos of the grandchildren for, and with, all of the grandparents. I was going to edit the hundreds of photos from December that are sitting on my hard drive. I was going to blog about a bunch of stuff so we at least have some sort of documentation of all of the busy-ness that has been happening around here. I was going to wrap-up the 2010 year and make some resolutions for 2011.

All good intentions.

So what really happened? We did travel back to Michigan – the girls and I. There wasn’t a ton of relaxing and no matter what I do, it is always hard to see and spend time with everyone. And then I fought the stomach flu and could only wave at some of our visitors (so sorry, Aunt Vicki and Uncle Dick!). And poor SasserElla had to give up a birthday trip to Chuck E. Cheese in favor of an eat-in lunch of Mickey D’s and cupcakes. Then I attempted to get my girls and our haul of Christmas goodies back to California while Em fought the same stomach flu. And I have proceeded to spend the first weekend in January trying to reset our house and lives and get back to “normal.”

Despite the good (failed!) intentions, I’m feeling very optimistic about what is in store for 2011. And I still might manage to get some Christmas photos blogged yet.

Looking forward to a fantastic 2011 filled with perhaps tackling those good intentions.

  1. I have some good intentions for 2011 too. Of course one of mine is to not put so much pressure on myself. We will see how long that lasts. I hope you guys get to feeling better soon.

  2. Awwww…..it never goes to plan but what the heck! It’s an adventure. Here’s to the adventure of 2011! Look forward to keeping up with your journey :-)

  3. Do your girls even know what to do with that cold white stuff?? LOL

That’s some pretty rotten luck. The Sickness simply should NOT strike during vacation, that’s just wrong. Poor you. :o ( Still, you have an awesome attitude and yes, I’m sure 2011 will see lots of good intentions realize!
