Crafty Tuesday

Raaawwwrrr!

I warned you it would be a whole lotta lions around here this week. Our bucket of 19 lion heads ready for dress rehearsal on Thursday. Well, almost ready…they just all need some velcro to hold them together.

They actually weren’t too bad to put together, but the lion mane “fur” makes a huge mess…

So I am happy to have the manes behind me.

I finally got a project that Em’s teacher had asked me to do months ago. She has two Cat in the Hats that go home with the students for a weekend trip and they needed some sort of traveling bag. Now the Cats can travel in style…

I have some birthday gifts I want to finish up this week, and J. left yesterday for the week. So you know what that means! We are onto our next room project. J. will not be so surprised when he comes home this time, though. He helped me move furniture and he even picked the paint color. So stay tuned for our playroom/craftroom transformation. I’m very excited about this one.

Were you crafty over the long weekend?

  1. That fur is so messy, but the lions turned out awesome. I can’t believe you made 19 of them. You are a super woman. I can’t wait to see the craft room transformation. I was actually somewhat productive over the long weekend.

  2. The lions outfits turned out great. Can wait to see a picture of the kids in them. Also the bags are really cool, I love the color.
Good luck with you painting project.

  3. You are (if you were not already) my craft role model! 19???????? I will be posting you your medal ;-) They look fantastic and I too would like to see the kids wearing them. I love the Cat in the Hat bags with matching stripy fabric! Perfect. And I laughed when I saw all the colour tester squares on the wall! reminds me of the days…. Now, Himself just looks at a chart and points (he is the colour guru) but there was a time when I was known as the Tester Queen at our local hardware store. Looking forward to the before and after shots.

  4. You really are the crafty queen and superhero! 19 of those lions, and you say it likes it’s no big deal. Wow. I hope those girls know how lucky they are to have a mom like you (not to mention how lucky they are to have a class-mom like you!). The lion heads are adorable and can’t wait to see them in action. The cat in the hat bags are great too, and I LOVE the color you chose for the playroom. Had to giggle at your color swatches, too. :) Your entire house is getting an upgrade this year!

  5. I really just don’t know how you do it all. You must have the spark of an Energizer bunny inside you. :) NINETEEN lion heads? Wow!

  6. That lion mane is the kind of stuff you want to cut outside LOL! I have some of the minky type of stuff that is just like that. Great job on getting them all done, too! They are lucky to have you to make them these things.

  7. Unless delivering babies is a craft, then I had no craftiness at all over the holiday weekend. But if is does then I was a crafting queen! :)

Such cute stuff…and I can’t wait to see your room makeover!
