Time According to a Pre-schooler

E. and my conversation as we “cuddled” in bed tonight, it went something like this:

E: But I’m getting so big now, Mama – I’m a big girl.
M: I know, honey. In a few weeks you are going to be 4! How exciting, huh?
E: And when I am 4, then I’ll be 5, and 6, and 7…
M: How about you just stay 4 for a little while?
E: But Mama, you know I was 1, and then 2, and I’ve already been 3 for a couple minutes!

How true. It feels like merely minutes. I then came out and birthday shopped online, barely able to see my laptop through my teary eyes, for my nearly 4-year old.

(psst…do you like the new header or do you prefer the old one?? I kind of needed to update the photos – although I LOVED the one of Addie, it was taken when she was like 9 months old. May be time for a change. So I thought I’d make it a little more “spring-like” while I was at it. What do you think?)

  1. I like the new header . . . must do something to jazz up my blog.

Even being as far away as I am it seems like just yesterday that Em was born and then Addie. I can’t believe she’s almost 4. Wasn’t her baby shower just a couple months ago??? At least, that’s what it feels like.

  2. I like the new header… and the pictures are always cute! Look on the bright side, its fun to shop for little girls no matter what there age :-)

  3. Love the new header. Totally know how you’re feeling! Seems like Lauren is always talking about what a big girl she is. Though we do have few more months of three.

  4. The new header is great. I wish I had your talets for taking such great pictures…and for designing such cool graphics… I guess I need a good camera first. Then I need to actually take pictures…

  5. Love the header — but you know I’m a sucker for polka dots and cute kids :o )

I hear you — My Mr. Carter is 5 today and so excited!! The first thing he asked me was if he looked bigger (of course he does, b/c I remember the moment they laid him on my belly :o ( and got to smell that sweet baby smell and touch that oh so soft baby skin.

  6. I have to say, I prefered the old one. Although I love all of your work, and this one looks great, the black and white one was so catchy!!
