Crafty Tuesday

We are busily preparing for our vacation later this week, so I only have a few things and a few minutes to share our crafties for the week.

I finished my niece’s little sundress, and it will be sent on its’ merry way tomorrow, hopefully to arrive in plenty ‘o time for her birthday next week.

Yeah, again with the purchased shirred fabric – paired with a cute bottom fabric – and voila! Sundress goodness. The girls have worn their dresses twice each already, so I guess they are a hit.

Yesterday started our little Summer School Project ’09. Nena is here and we did some girly stuff (mani/pedicures) so we only had a few hours of school, but we started on Our Ocean World. We are turning the playroom into an underwater world.

Today we worked on alphabets (Addie), some spelling (Emma), alphabetizing (Emma again) and then went through our flashcards and started to find facts about all of our animals. Then we read the Rainbow Fish and made our own fish and hung them in our ocean. We are working on crabs and jellyfish today.

This time next week we will be lying under a palm tree or observing real fish up close and personal. So…Crafty Tuesday will be on hiatus, unless someone wants to guest host it at their place?

Have a great, crafty week!

  1. What a cute sundress! I bet she is going to love her gift. Nice to hear the girls are loving theirs, too. That always makes it so much more fun when they wear the stuff you make. Kai wears his racecar outfit whenever it’s clean, so that is nice.

Love your ocean, too. What a fun way to spend the summer with the girls! Have fun in Hawaii, too. It’s so beautiful there. One day we hope to make it back with the kids, but that is a LOOONG flight from here. I think they will need to be a bit older to be able to handle it.

I can host next week. I usually have something to share. :) More boys clothes for me this week and a little outfit for Anya I made back in May. I still need to photograph some stuff I made for me, yet. I hope I get to some sewing this week…going outside is a bit much since it is pretty hot and humid this week.

  2. Yup, those sundresses sure have been a hit! Oh and your Ocean mural (guessing it’s going to be) take ,e back to my infant teaching. I LOVED when we made murals. One day I must put up a few of my murals for you, if you’re interested. They were one of my favorite things to do in the classroom. Greeeeeeen with envy over Hawaii of course but you enjoy yourselves!!!! I probably won’t have anything next week as we are knee deep in exams but I’ll be sure to look in at Stacy’s!

  3. I love your little ocean world. I still can’t get over how organized you are with your summer program. I am sure the girls are going to have a blast. Have a great vacation too!! We will be gone next week also.

  4. That dress is A-D-O-R-A-B-L-E! I can’t wait to see it on her. Have a great trip!
