Crafty Tuesday

Painting and sewing, sewing and painting. But, none of it is what I would call exciting or photo-worthy.

I finished the 20 tunics last week and I have three more for this week. Didn’t get to Addie’s little dress, and she is quite upset over it, but I guess she’ll live. I love how all of you knew exactly what those types of dresses were called though! Pillowcase dresses. I love it. Hopefully next week I’ll haveĀ  Ad’s done to show you.

Over the weekend we all went to help paint sets for the church spring musical, and I also have some homework. I’ve been painting the map of Paul’s second mission tonight. Complete with Macedonia, Crete and the whole Mediterranean area. It is truly a work of art. Like I said, not really “photo-worthy.”

I do have a question for my nurse friends and veteran moms out there. I must add a disclaimer here though, if you are drinking your morning coffee or eating anything, or are easily disgusted – you might not want to look at this.

Ok, ready?

Really?

Here goes…

What do you think?

toes

And no, not “she seriously needs a pedicure.”

Do you think it is broken? And there isn’t really anything they can do even if it is broken, right?

And excuse the blood, I just took the bandage off of it, apparently it has not stopped bleeding from about five hours ago. That probably isn’t good either, huh?

Now you know – no more wondering where my graceful girls get it from. I actually managed to have a “run in” with the table while I was trying to whisk a whiny Addie off to timeout.

So I’m off to mix some more paint, and whine about the incredible pain in my toe. Show me the GOOD craftiness you have today, won’t you?

  1. Oh Care, I feel your pain. TOES HURT!!! If it is broken there is not much they can do, but the blood 5 hours later………keep an eye out. Sorry to tell you that that toe will be sensitive for months to come. Remind me to tell you how I broke my toe one time…………………………..

How many cuss words spewed while getting whiny tiny to time out?

    Love you!

  2. Dang, that looks like it hurts! Yeah, they really can’t do anything about it if it’s broken, but you might want to make sure it is set right. I would get it checked just in case.

You know as clutsy at I am, I’m surprised I have broken anything…yet. It’s just a matter of time, I think.

  3. I am with Stacy. I think I would get it checked to be sure. Ouch. Anything toe related is SO painful. I hope it feels better soon.

  4. Oh my! Owwwwwwww. I feeeeel that! What they said, but you might also want to strap it to the toe next door to keep it from getting knocked around.
I really wish I had craftiness to share but I am STILL not finished that cardigan (I knew that would happen once school started again) and the BA’s room still needs paint. *sigh* one of these days………….

  5. Eeeek! Ouch, girl!! Can you move the toe??? I’ve always heard that if it’s broken you won’t be able to move it, don’t know how true that is tho.

Twenty tunics in a week’s time, you are amazing. Plus painting all that. Sheesh, where do you get the time?? We’ve had a bit of craftiness, but I haven’t gotten it together to photograph anything.

  6. Not a nurse friend or a veteran mom but I would tell my sis-in-law that I don’t think that they can do anything with it if it is broke. I would ice it to keep the swelling down and get some kind of splint to tape it to another toe. Maybe a popsicle stick or something like that. That is what I learned in First Aid, although that was a few years ago.

    Good luck.

  7. It is probably broke but it looks well aligned and there isn’t much you can do The thing you need to look out for is infection. When you get a fracture like that near a nail and there is blood it is can considered an open fracture. If you have any signs of infection you should have it looked at ( Increased redness, swelling, pain, pus or red streaks on the skin ~ all signs of infection) otherwise open toed shoes or hard bottom sole shoes will help with the pain. Ice is also good.
