Crafty Tuesday

There has been some craftin’ going on around heeere!

Em has had a few serious homework/craft projects for school. Ones that require trips to the craft store to get glitter glue and jingle bells.

And when you are in the same aisle as the pom-poms, you have to know you aren’t leaving without a package of those for another little someone.

And then Wendy called and invited us over for a Girls Crafty Day, and we made some serious ornaments.

Most of these were actually Wendy’s creations (except the 2 over on the right of the picture, those were crafted by the two cuties pictured!) Most of our creations from today are going to be given as gifts, so we can only tease you with a sampling.

It was such a fun, fun day. Thanks, Winnie!

And finally, my new obsession… (which was born out of my other new obsession – trolling around and browsing etsy shops) the craft of the season. Hopefully every kid in my life will be getting one of these for Christmas.
I present the kidlet.

HOW cute are they? Just little bags to hold books, animals, stuff. You can hang them on hooks or on a doorknob. As our lovely model is showing here.

We made this one for Addie’s little friend, Madison who turned 3 on Sunday. Put a cute little book inside, a card in the front pocket and voila! Gift! Cute! Fun!

So I’m off to cut out about 10 more kidlets to work on before Christmas. Want to guess what you’ll be seeing next week?
What about anyone else? Got some fun stuff to share?

  1. Ohhh. Wish I did but the holidays are here so maybe I’ll finally get that room finished and do some scrappin’ and make the dress I’ve been promising myself and and and

  2. I just love the way Addie has her pom poms organized! She looks so serious. The frames look super fun, and I’m lovin’ the bag too! I just recently tried my hand at a very easy (we’re talking a rectangle) pattern for presents this year too. Enjoy the fun of the season!

  3. oooooh, i think i could make that bag! it looks a little less complicated than what i have been working on.
i posted my craftiness, stop by and check it out if you want. :)

  4. Looks like you have been busy, busy, busy! Love those cute ornaments – wonderful handmade gifts from the girls. That bag is so adorable, too. Great job on all your crafting this week!

I have a new dress up for Anya. It was really fun to make – I love to make her finery. This time I did it in silk, so hopefully it holds up to her playing. :)

  5. Love the Christmas Header!
You guys have been busy. I love the pasta frames, did you spray paint them? It looks like they were gold in the finished picture. What a cute idea for a gift, can you ever have enough bags?

  6. I want to know – did Addie sort the poppoms herself? That’s totally something N would do.

You are always so busy and productive! The kidlets are adorable!

  7. I love the kidlet. Such a great idea. And the pics of the macaroni frames brought back some lovely childhood memories. Gluing macaroni onto stuff will never get old. Thanks for some inspiration!

  8. My friend who lost he power cord to my sewing machine has lent me her sewing machine! So I’m inspired. I’ve thought about making a bag like that for Harrison. Maybe I will now! If I can figure out the pattern, I’m rusty at sewing.

Harrison loves the pom-poms too. he just made a picture last week that included pom poms, I was going to post it last Tuesday, but that’s when we started having internet issues.

    There is always next Tuesday.

  9. I love those kidlets! I made one for my niece for her birthday and filled it with books. At first my family made fun of me because they thought I forgot one of the handles on the “tote.” :)

Also, thanks for the inspiration. I have been wondering what my students can do this year for gifts for moms & dads. We will totally be rockin’ the macaroni frame!
