{"id":4249,"date":"2016-09-09T19:14:14","date_gmt":"2016-09-10T02:14:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/barelycontrolledchaos.com\/wordpress\/?p=4249"},"modified":"2016-09-09T19:14:14","modified_gmt":"2016-09-10T02:14:14","slug":"happy-eleven-1-1-11","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/barelycontrolledchaos.com\/wordpress\/?p=4249","title":{"rendered":"Happy Eleven, 1-1, 11!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dear Addikins &#8211;<\/p>\n<p>Today is the first day of what I consider the &#8220;start of the slide into teenagerdom.&#8221; When you are just 10, still in elementary school, it kinda feels like you are just &#8220;a big kid.&#8221; A larger version of the toddler, or little kid, you used to be. But today marks that magical day when you hit tweendom&#8230;definitely not just a &#8220;big kid&#8221; and oh so dangerously close to being a teenager. And frankly, I&#8217;m just not really sure how I feel about this development yet.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"DSC_7260\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/voris\/28950386033\/in\/dateposted-public\/\" data-flickr-embed=\"true\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"DSC_7260\" src=\"https:\/\/c2.staticflickr.com\/9\/8136\/28950386033_affd617382_z.jpg\" width=\"640\" height=\"424\" \/><\/a>But then I watch you as you fit in so perfectly with Em and her friends, your seamless introduction to middle school, and this new found confidence that you seem to ooze, and I know&#8230;you are ready. And it helps my heart limp along just a little, knowing that this is how it should be. This is you stretching your wings and figuring out who you are going to be. <a title=\"DSC_7277\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/voris\/29573774665\/in\/dateposted-public\/\" data-flickr-embed=\"true\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"DSC_7277\" src=\"https:\/\/c2.staticflickr.com\/9\/8675\/29573774665_bf2300fec7_z.jpg\" width=\"424\" height=\"640\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This past year I think has been one of the biggest developmental years for you. You have literally blossomed right under our noses. From sprouting a few inches to finally making it on pointe, it has been an amazing year watching you grow into a beautiful, confident young lady.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"IMG_3416\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/voris\/29464524842\/in\/dateposted-public\/\" data-flickr-embed=\"true\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"IMG_3416\" src=\"https:\/\/c3.staticflickr.com\/9\/8456\/29464524842_3e13856245_z.jpg\" width=\"480\" height=\"640\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><script charset=\"utf-8\" type=\"text\/javascript\" src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" async=\"\"><\/script>And I so admire your tenacity and determination. When you make up your mind to do something&#8230;you charge full steam ahead. It doesn&#8217;t always work out the way you&#8217;d like, but I hope you never lose that sense of adventure and willingness to just try. <a title=\"DSC_7245\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/voris\/29573780645\/in\/dateposted-public\/\" data-flickr-embed=\"true\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"DSC_7245\" src=\"https:\/\/c6.staticflickr.com\/9\/8297\/29573780645_218a090c72_z.jpg\" width=\"640\" height=\"423\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><script charset=\"utf-8\" type=\"text\/javascript\" src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" async=\"\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>I think the coolest thing about parenting is seeing mundane, everyday things through your kids&#8217; eyes, and watching the world through you the past 11 years, Addikins? That has been a true gift and an incredibly fun journey so far.
