The day is finally here. You leave the single digit ages behind, and embark on the new adventure of double digit-dom. Finally. Waiting to turn 10, when nearly all of your friends have already had their double digit birthdays &#8211; well, that has truly been an exercise in patience, hasn&#8217;t it my sweet, impatient one?<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"DSC_3664\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/voris\/21244714452\/in\/dateposted-public\/\" data-flickr-embed=\"true\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"DSC_3664\" src=\"https:\/\/farm6.staticflickr.com\/5687\/21244714452_6ce486e11e_b.jpg\" width=\"500\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><script charset=\"utf-8\" type=\"text\/javascript\" src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" async=\"\"><\/script>Along with a lot of waiting, this long year has brought so many great changes for you. I watched you a few weeks ago as you were so frightened and on the verge of giving up. After you worked through all of your &#8220;I can&#8217;t do its,&#8221; you climbed to the top of a 40-foot tree and then precariously balanced and walked a tightrope wire between two trees. FORTY-feet above the ground.\u00a0Slowly I could see your fear growing into persistence as you learned that you may be small, but you are definitely\u00a0<em><strong>mighty<\/strong><\/em>. <a title=\"DSC_3856\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/voris\/20396047544\/in\/album-72157655657239943\/\" data-flickr-embed=\"true\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"DSC_3856\" src=\"https:\/\/farm6.staticflickr.com\/5633\/20396047544_05e4718407_b.jpg\" width=\"500\" \/><\/a><script charset=\"utf-8\" type=\"text\/javascript\" src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" async=\"\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>And your <em><strong>confidence<\/strong><\/em> has grown by leaps and bounds this past year. I loved getting to the ballet studio early and peeking in the window to watch you demonstrate a dance combination to the class. And I loved standing in the wings with you backstage watching you while you clasped hands with your friends and anxiously awaited your cue to go on stage. Really I just love any moment when I can sit back and watch the complete joy on your face while you dance or express yourself creatively.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/barelycontrolledchaos.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/IMG_8821.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-4228\" alt=\"IMG_8821\" src=\"http:\/\/barelycontrolledchaos.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/IMG_8821-575x1024.jpg\" width=\"500\" srcset=\"http:\/\/barelycontrolledchaos.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/IMG_8821-575x1024.jpg 575w, http:\/\/barelycontrolledchaos.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/IMG_8821-168x300.jpg 168w, http:\/\/barelycontrolledchaos.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/IMG_8821.jpg 1430w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 575px) 100vw, 575px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And of course, your love for all animals is still so strong and has led you to becoming a full-on, completely dedicated vegetarian this past summer. (I really should&#8217;ve seen that one coming.) Once you make your mind up about something, there really is no going back.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/barelycontrolledchaos.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/DSC_4167.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-4229\" alt=\"DSC_4167\" src=\"http:\/\/barelycontrolledchaos.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/DSC_4167-678x1024.jpg\" width=\"500\" srcset=\"http:\/\/barelycontrolledchaos.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/DSC_4167-678x1024.jpg 678w, http:\/\/barelycontrolledchaos.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/DSC_4167-198x300.jpg 198w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 678px) 100vw, 678px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This past year might have seemed like an eternity to you, but you managed to pack a lot in, Addikins. And it is all working for you, kiddo.
