Crafty Tuesday

It has been all about getting stuff crossed off the old project list around here this past week. A lot of it is stuff that I need to do for school and not all that exciting. But I managed to finish up those drapes I put out to the internet universe last week. I knew if I said that I had to finish them I would feel compelled to actually do it.

Crummy middle of the night photo again, but you can kinda get the idea of the brown silk – and the “puddling.” I was really happy with how they turned out and even happier that all six windows are done. My friend Jamie remarked last week that I’m good at execution, and I guess I am. The more things that are on my to-do list, the more I get done. But, If I don’t have a lot on my plate, I don’t seem to accomplish anything.

Speaking of executing…Jamie used the tutorial I did for Em’s birdcage dress and Addie’s all-time favorite t-shirt that was getting too short and she made this fantastic dress for Ad’s birthday.

Do you think Addie loves it? She wore it to a birthday party moments after she put it on, and has been asking when it will be out of the laundry ever since. Yes, I think she does indeed adore it.

Well, I am off to finish up Halloween costumes. Guess what Emma has decided she wants to be? I’ll give you a hint, or two. I’m off to find orange make-up, dye a wig green, and I just finished up these overalls…

Any ideas? (Oh, and she is on a total Roald Dahl kick, if that helps.)

  1. I tend to be the same way. I get more done when I have more to do, which lately seems like always. Yeah, for getting the curtains finished. That’s a huge one to cross off the list. Addie’s dress is beyond adorable. Hmmmm. I am a little stumped about Emma’s costume.

  2. Great job on the curtains Bean… Also Addie’s dress is adorable… I have no clue what Emma is going to be.

    Love to all

  3. Great job on the curtains! I am afraid I’m at a loss for the costume, too. It must be something we do not watch or read. One of the two! Addie is adorable in that dress, too. Very cute. :)

  4. Is she going to be an Oompa Loompa?

I am exactly the same way. If my list is full I can bang that sucker out. If I only have one or two things to do, they might never get done.

  5. Oooh, she’s going to be the cuteset Oompa Loompa ever! :) The curtains turned out fabulous dahling. And the dress? Almost as cute as Addie’s expression!

  6. I am the opposite. The more I have on my to-do list, the less I get done. I’m neck high in school work right now…and here I sit. Sigh. You’re my muse, Carrie!

  7. Hmmmm. I’m with you Christina. I tend to get overwhelmed nowadays. The pile of things in my sewing basket is embarrassing. Addie’s dress is super cute. I never would have though of putting ruffles on a T shirt like that. It looks amazing! Those curtains worked really well too. I totally see what you mean now. It must be a relief to have that project off your list and so rewarding to see them all hanging there looking so elegant.
Glad someone said Oompa-Loompa cos I had no clue. I was going with ‘pumpkin’ right up until you showed us the overalls!!

  8. I am totally with you — the more I have on my list of things to do, the more productive I am. But find me a little down time and it’s more than likely that I will barely get off the couch!

Those curtains are gorgeous — I never cease to be amazed at your talent!
